Cathrin Mohr is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the MarcoFinance & MacroHistory Lab since September 2020. She studied Economics in Munich and at the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics. From September 2017 until January 2018 she was a visiting researcher at Harvard. In 2019 she received her PhD from the University of Munich. Her job market paper received the UniCredit Foundation Econ Job Market Best Paper Award in 2019.
Her research focuses on Political Economy, Economic History and Cultural Economics. In particular, she looks at historical events to better understand the political economy of autocracies, fiscal capacity, and cultural change.
